HIS CHILDHOOD"
He suffered from Emphysema in 1985, and had a tumor removed 1994
When he found out about his cancer , he became ANTI-SMOKING ADVOCATE.

Took up smoking when he was 12 years old. After the surgery, the cancer it still spread to his
brain and spine.
He got addicted to nicotine immediately.
He received a carton of Marlboro as gifts from Phillip Morris.
1994 labels were put on cigarette packs and ads said nothing about addictions.

1996- McLean's Widow and her son filed suit for wrongful death against Phillip Morris, maker of Marlboro.
They are claiming that they encouraged or even required cigarette smoking which caused his lung
cancer, his nicotine addiction.
Lawsuit also contended he was obligated to smoke up to 5 PACKAGES PER TAKE TO GET THE RIGHT LOOK
WHILE POSING AS THE MARLBORO MAN.

1999: It was still pending. Phillip Morris, has all his attempts exhausted. He wants all of this dismissed.
